The Hoh Rainforest is a place you’ll never forget experiencing for the first time. Nestled deep in the woods of Olympic National Park, the Hoh Rainforest is one of the most popular places in the park. Its moss-covered trees and morning dew make the forest a magical kind of place, one where the feeling of visiting will always stick with you and pull you back to visit again and again, which is why so many couples opt for a Hoh Rainforest elopement.
The Hoh Rainforest is not only the quietest place in the continental United States, but it’s also one of the largest temperature rainforests in the United States. The forest gets a whopping 12 feet of rain per year and truly lives up to the stereotypical vibe of the Pacific Northwest – rain, clouds, ferns, and fog, which is exactly why it makes the perfect spot for those seeking everything the Pacific Northwest has to offer.
Hoh Rainforest Elopement Inspiration
When Cat and Dev reached out to me, they knew they wanted two things: kayaking and Olympic National Park. The only two things you’ll ever need, right?
Olympic National Park is my favorite national park, so when they inquired, I was over the moon excited to show them all my favorite hidden gems. We hopped on a call and talked all about their relationship, cats, and love for Olympic. They expressed to me that they wanted their elopement day to be more than just a ceremony and pictures. They wanted to incorporate their love for kayaking, see as many sights as possible, and end the night under the stars with s’mores and music. Talk about a perfect day.
I got to work right away. I sent them a huge list of locations in the park that I think they’d love using an in-depth, personalized questionnaire they filled out. Not long after, they got back to me and expressed their love for the Hoh Rainforest and Ruby Beach. I was able to find them an epic Airbnb on a private lake where they could canoe and enjoy the morning before their ceremony. Everything was coming together seamlessly, and I was so incredibly excited about their Hoh Rainforest elopement.
When I showed up on the day of, it felt like we had known each other for years. I helped Cat with her dress, Dev set out the canoe with beautiful florals from Fullness of Joy Floral, and we all were smiling ear to ear, excited for what the day would bring.
The morning started with a peaceful ride on the canoe, where Cat and Dev really channeled their inner Allie and Noah from The Notebook. Not a single soul was on the lake.
We then ventured off to the Hoh Rainforest, to where our surprise, we were the only ones in the forest. If you’ve ever been to the park, you know how rare this is. We were taking pictures when all of a sudden, we heard a rustling in the trees nearby. We looked to the side and came face to face with an elk. The experience was incredible. It made us all a little teary-eyed. How could it not?
After venturing through the forest, we traveled to Ruby Beach where Cat and Dev exchanged their vows under a dark red sun, surrounded by mist and fog.
After the beach, we headed back to their Airbnb where Cat and Dev changed into casual clothing and had a fire, with s’mores and drinks, reflecting back on the day and sealing their love with a kiss.
It was the most magical day. The awe-inspiring landscapes of Olympic National Park made for an unforgettable experience for these two, and I can’t to see who it inspires next.
