If there’s one topic I could go on about for hours, it’s how Brookings, Oregon is hands down one of the most underrated places to elope. Truly.
Tucked away at the southern edge of the state, Brookings is home to some of the most incredible coastline imaginable. I’m talking large rock formations, coastal overlooks, and even incredible trails where the forest meets the sea. Not to mention the Redwoods, which are just a short drive away (30 minutes!) from town. So when Ciara and Kaimen reached out to me about wanting to plan an elopement in Brookings, I couldn’t say yes fast enough.
We started the day at sunrise in the Redwoods. These two (and all their friends and family) flew all the way from Alabama to see the national park and the Pacific Ocean for the first time. Their reactions didn’t disappoint.
Their ceremony took place at one of my favorite locations in the park for ceremonies, Templeman Grove. They exchanged vows and rings before making it official with a kiss. Immediately after saying “I do,” surrounded by the towering trees, they took a moment to honor not only their love for nature but also their faith. They sang worship songs together, and let me tell you, there wasnโt a dry eye in sight (myself included).
After their ceremony, we headed off for a few more portraits at one of my favorite groves. It was rainy and moody this day which made the lighting perfect. There wasn’t a soul in sight!
After a quick portrait session, we ended the day in, you guessed it, Brookings, where these two exchanged private vows, had some cake, and ended the night as husband and wife. Having photos at a coastal overlook was very important to them, so when I suggested this hidden gem spot I know, it was an immediate yes. You should have seen their reactions. I mean, you can probably tell just from the photos how incredible this place is.
If youโve ever dreamed of an elopement that combines redwoods, ocean views, and a day that feels 100% like you, a Brookings elopement might just be the answer. And I’ll be here to make it happen.

You? You’re the kind of person that gets a lil’ teary eyed looking at an epic view…
That moment when you turn to the person youโre with and ask, โAre you seeing this?โ I live for it. Places with trees and mountains and soft breezes that make you say, โI canโt believe this place exists,โ I spend pretty much all of my free time searching for and exploring them.
These places have always felt like home to me. And if youโre the kind of person who also feels more at home surrounded by trees than by people? Then weโll get along really well. The Pacific Northwest is full of secret spots that are too special to share with just anyone. But it would make me happy to share them with you on your wedding day.
If the mountains/beaches/redwood forests are calling your name, go aheadโฆ
(I promise you wonโt regret it.)
